In some places reduction roasting of the low grade hematite ore is done to convert it into magnetic ore before the application of the magnetic separation method for the ore beneficiation. Another method which can be employed is the use of a dense medium in a gas-solid fluidized bed for the enrichment of iron ore.

Scope of Ore Beneficiation: Previously selective mining practices were followed. But after the development of inexpensive ore beneficiation methods, bulk mining practices have proved to be more economical compared to careful selective mining. In a general way the scope of mineral dressing or ore beneficiation is twofold: 1.

The results for the sample roasted at 650°C are given in Table 6, while the results for roasting at 700°C are given in Table 7. It can be seen from Tables 6 and 7 that low-intensity magnetic separation increased the iron grade by about 1.1-1.5% Fe using ore roasted at 700°C and by about 0.66-1.4% Fe using ore roasted at 650°C.

The prime objective of bauxite beneficiation for the metallurgical industry is to reduce the reactive silica content of the ore for lower caustic consumption, and higher alumina recovery. This is followed by reduction in iron content (mainly goethite), organics, boehmite etc., resulting in the overall improvement in quality and increase in ...

Among them, hematite, as a weak magnetic iron ore, has uneven particle size and high content of fine particles. Hematite ore is an important iron ore resource in my country. In the early 1960s, hematite ore was mainly processed by roasting-magnetic separation and single-flotation processes, and the production technical indicators were poor.
