The gravity separation experiments were carried out in a slime table machine (LYN(s)-1100 × 500). Before the gravity separation, 350 g of CSS was ground to achieve 94.3 % of the CSS particles through the 74 μm sieve. Then, the ground CSS was subjected to gravity separation in the slime table at a backwash water of 4.8 L/min.
