Nevertheless, few researches have focused on the rock-breaking mechanisms of triple-ridged PDC cutter. Thus, this research carries out a series of numerical simulations to reveal the rock-breaking mechanisms of the triple-ridged PDC cutter. The numerical analysis and the visualization of the rock-breaking process are shown in the paper.
Summary. The drilling industry is paying increasing attention to deep and ultradeep wells because of the gradual decline and depletion of recoverable resources on the shallow surface. However, the difficulty of conventional mechanical rock-breaking grows significantly with increasing drilling depth. It has been found that the effect of a high-pressure …
A rock crushing device includes a housing with a plurality of walls defining a chamber that has an upper inlet and a lower outlet. At least one of the walls is movable relative to another wall to define a primary compression assembly for crushing rocks within the chamber via mechanical force. There is an auxiliary crushing assembly connected with at least one of the walls to …

the rock type and the crushing mechanism (Donza et al., 2002; Jamkar and Rao, 2004; Singh et al., 2013). By using image analysis techniques, Hafeez et al. (Hafeez et al., 2016) found that the aggregates obtained by using the cone crusher show higher cubical than those from the jaw crusher. Also by using the image
Resonance drilling is a new technology, still at the laboratory stage. It has great potential to improve rock fragmentation efficiency. We analyzed the amplitude-frequency characteristics of steady-state mechanical vibration excited by harmonic vibration in rocks and an apparatus was built to achieve high frequency vibration of rock. The influence of rock …
Two general types of mechanism are employed: reciprocating rock crushers in which the crushing surfaces alternately approach and withdraw from each other, and; continuous rock crushers in which, in the crushing zone, there is continuous approach of the crushing surfaces to a substantially fixed predetermined minimum spacing.
Stone crusher machines are widely used in various industries for breaking down and crushing large rocks into smaller pieces. However, understanding the working mechanism of these machines is critical to ensure safe and efficient operation. In this comprehensive guide, we will explore the crushing process, power and performance, components and structure, …
2. A rock-crushing mechanism is given in Figure P4.13. Complete the following: a. Position the links in the configuration shown, then reposition the links as the crank is rotated 30° clockwise. Graphically determine the resulting angular displacement of the crushing ram. b. Verify your answer from part a. analytically. c.
In this solution we will analyze rock-crushing mechanism. The crank is rotating and swinging the ram to its limiting positions. We will draw sketch of the mechanism with positions of the ram marked during the full cycle (one full rotation of crank). Using graphical method, we will determine maximum angular displacement of the ram.
The stereoscopic crushing effect of rocks refers to the process of crushing hard rock materials into smaller particles or fragments. Wang et al. [5] used numerical simulation to study the rock-breaking process and mechanism of compound impact drilling. ... The rock-breaking mechanism of drilling is revealed according to the stress–strain ...
The blastability of rock is the comprehensive reflection of the physical and mechanical properties of rock itself, the performance of the explosive charge, and blasting processes. It is not just a single intrinsic property of the rock, but a combination of a series of inherent properties of the rock, which manifests itself i…
High-voltage electric pulse rock-breaking technology has the potential to improve drilling speed significantly. Numerous mechanism studies and laboratory experiments have laid the foundation for developing high-voltage electric pulse rock-breaking technology. However, the mechanism of medium ion channels growing in three dimensions has yet to be fully …
The surface geometry of polycrystalline diamond compact (PDC) cutters has a considerable influence on their rock-cutting mechanism. In the study reported here, to study the mechanism for rock crushing by saddle PDC cutters, two-dimensional and three-dimensional finite-element models of such cutters cutting granite were established. The two-dimensional …
The constitutive model for the CRL skeleton selected is the Holmquist-Johnson-Cook (HJC) model, which considers the compaction-crushing effect, strain rate effect, and damage evolution of rock materials, effectively describing the deformation and fracture behavior of rock materials under large strain (Xie et al., 2019, Collard et al., 2021).
