This is a cool experiment that i demonstrated to my classmates : what happens is that ..... A small amount of water is heated in a soda can until steaming. The can is then quickly put in cool water, mouth side down. The sudden change in temp causes a sudden change in pressure, making atmospheric pressure higher than the can pressure.

In this paper a laboratory cone crusher is simulated using DEM and the results are compared with laboratory experiments. The rock material is modelled using the Bonded Particle Model approach calibrated against single particle breakage experiments. Two case simulations have been performed investigating the influence of eccentric speed.

This is one of the best science experiments because it demonstrates what happens to a flame as it runs out of oxygen and also how a rapid temperature change can create a vacuum or suction by altering the air pressure inside the jar. Not to mention it's like magic! Bound to impress, especially at that science fair.

The experiments were conducted at an aggregate producer outside of Gothenburg, Sweden. The operation surveyed is a secondary crushing stage, treating primary crushed material from a jaw crusher as feed material. The crusher close side setting was carefully calibrated manually at four different positions prior to each test.

In the cone crusher experiments, other modes of abrasion are also present, generally a three-body abrasion with rock sliding, but also the second major wear mechanism, i.e., pure indentation. In the case of pure sliding, cutting and ploughing of soft metallic matrix is dominant wear mechanism, while ceramic reinforcements are only ground.
